Also known as death doulas, death midwifes and threshold guides, EOL doulas are compassionate, non-medical support persons that can aid a dying person with a variety of tasks including respite for caregivers, advance planning, care coordination, day to day tasks, legacy projects, meaning making, creating sacred space and ritual, as well as bedside companioning and holding vigil.
Doulas are trained professionals who help their clients achieve their wishes and desires as they companion them through the dying process. Doulas are non-medical members of a care team and do not take the place of hospice or palliative care personnel; rather they fill gaps by focusing on tasks that other care team members do not do or have much time for. Some doulas also have specialty skill sets unique to their offerings, such as therapeutic music, massage, Reiki, and helping clients complete legacy projects in the arts.

Do You & Your Loved Ones have an End-of-Life care plan? Dealing with mortality can be overwhelming. Planning end-of-life care for you and your loved ones can bring you peace, reassurance... and relief. As a certified end-of-life doula, my passion is to inspire proactive planning for end-of-life care.
Graceful Transitions offers 'A Guide to Living Fully and Dying Prepared'. Could this be the unique opportunity you have been looking for? This comprehensive and interactive workshop is designed to help you initiate these crucial yet challenging conversations.
... My role as an end-of-life doula includes being your end-of-life care concierge offering respite for exhausted caregivers, navigating end-of-life care and after death details, and providing guidance along the way to prepare for what’s to come while offering support during the grieving process. I provide compassion, information, and a sense of calm and often act as a project manager to help coordinate various non-medical supportive services for end-of-life and after death.
